Electronic Cigarettes-The New Age |
By Jonah Jameson
The new age of smoking is here. Electronic cigarettes and cigars are replacing
real tobacco. They do not emit carcinogens and the only chemical that is present
in the real cigarette is nicotine so they are a much smarter choice. They can also
be used as a stop smoking aid or in public places that have banned tobacco
smoke such as bars, restaurants, airplanes or your work place.
The inhaled nicotine is in the form of water vapor flavored to give the sensation
of tobacco so you have normal, menthol along with flavors like vanilla, chocolate,
cherry, apple and strawberry. The same physical sensation is still enjoyed.
Originally the electronic cigarettes came in 3 parts and were longer than longs.
The 3 parts were the mouthpiece including nicotine cartridge and atomiser and
a battery. Now you can get the e cigarettes in 2 parts and are about the same
size as a king cigarette some even come super slim line if the smoker prefers.
The parts are the battery and the mouthpiece which includes the nicotine
cartridge and the
atomizer. Most are reusable by replacing the nicotine
cartridges.
The design is made up of four parts to an e-cigarette. electronic circuitry, a
battery, a mouthpiece and a heat element. The mouthpiece better known
as the cartridge is a small cup attached the the tube. The tube holds the
absorbing material that is wetted due to the absorbed nicotine of your
flavor in liquid form.
The heat element of the atomizer is the secons component. The purpose is
to vaporize the liquid nicotine in the oral piece so it can be inhaled. the
atomizer and the mouthpiece can be combined in some e-cigarette models.
Those are known as the mini versions of the electronic cigarette.
The battery which is the largest component used to power the alternative
cigarette. The battery in use is the rechargeable lithium battery to power
the heating element. The life span will differ depending on the size, brand, usage,
the environment operated in. You would be best to have 2 batteries then
you always have a spare.
The light at the tip is usually red like most cigarettes but you can get different
colors if you don't want to be spotted and questioned for possibly be smoking
a regular tobacco cigarette. Mine is green because I prefer menthol. The
electronic circuits include a timed off switch to prevent overheating and a light
emitting diode to signal the activation. The airflow sensor employs to activate
automatically when inhaled. When exhaled it appears as smoke but it is really
water vapor and completely harmless to anyone nearby.
I can only speak for myself I purchased the e-cig last fall to be able to smoke
in bars and restaurants that recently banned regular cigarettes. I like the feel of
holding it in my hand and the flavor exceeded my expectations. My nicotine
addiction has been met and I'm not polluting anyones environment with my second
hand smoke.
